The 2008 Forum will be April 20-24 in San Diego, California Each spring, the IAPP hosts an annual Open Forum where Accounts Payable professionals come together to share best practices, leading edge technologies and accounting procedures that impact their profession and enhance the industry. The forum consists of professional speakers, workshops, vendor exhibits, networking opportunities and much more! General Sessions and Professional Speakers The Forum features presentations from individuals who have valuable insights to offer in the area of Accounts Payable such as Linda Sawyer Sisko from Cisco Systems. IAPP members give presentations and case studies in their area of expertise. In addition, the Forum provides an opportunity to hear world renown professional speakers such as Barbara Bush, John Gray, Ann Richards and Frank Abagnale, all who have spoken at past Forums. Workshops Over 70 different workshops are offered at the Forum and each participant is able to select which workshops they want to attend. Workshops provide the opportunity to meet in smaller groups allowing for more interaction among participants. Some examples of workshops are AP Fraud, Automation of Controllable Expenses in AP, PO's and Processing, Centralizing your AP Department, Getting a Handle on Vendor Claims, Procurement Cards and 1099-MISC Processing. Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) Program The IAPP introduced their Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) program in 2001. The CAPP program is designed to recognize the expertise and qualifications of the professionals in Accounts Payable. It is intended to increase professionalism in any component or sector of the Accounts Payable industry. IAPP members are eligible for CAPP certification after passing a 300 question exam. Networking The breakfasts, luncheons and evening events allow the participants to network with other Accounts Payable professionals from around the world. Exhibits Over 50 exhibitors participate at the Forum each year for Accounts Payable professionals to gather information on products and services from industry vendors. Exhibitors range from Recovery Audit Services to Management Consulting Services to Banking Services. Who Should Attend This Forum is open to all Finance and Accounting professionals.
